Dr. James D. Whitehead has been practicing orthodontics in the Lexington area for more than a decade. A South Carolina native, he received his BS from Clemson University, and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Whitehead completed his residency in orthodontics at the Medical College of Georgia, where he earned his certificate of specialization, as well as his MS in oral biology. Dr. Whitehead regularly attends continuing education meetings and courses that keep him abreast of the latest developments in technology and orthodontic care. He holds active memberships to local, state and national dental and orthodontic organizations, including the South Carolina Dental Association, Southern Association of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Whitehead is an avid sportsman, and enjoys spending time with his wife, Crissy, and their two sons, James and Nowell.
